Growth can occur as you do explicitly indicate with

‘things’ in the physical world - and within an improved perspective - within process and in that new context of Time. The additional, added perspective of Time - because it’s overtly less visible - does create a different objective - a different measurement characteristic that must be additionally codified in process. That differentiation is the essential detail that separates processes from things- your type 2.

It appears we, as complex organisms, have always had type 1 growth lead to type 2 growth. Thus, our evolution has always been about better survival than just survival at all costs.
